What Are Investigation Coaching Services?
The purpose of working with an investigation coach is to maximize both your own potential and your team's potential. While we facilitate investigations across the globe, we also continue to provide coaching and mentoring to those in need of assistance.
Completing an ICAM investigation in a timely manner is the most common issue we see, and we find this is due to a number of factors including:
lack of resources and support
misinterpretation of the ICAM process, and
overwhelming workload

How does coaching work?
Coaching can, and often does, commence from the moment our clients talk with our investigators on the phone or via email. Discussion can range from where things are at, to what needs to be done prior to our arrival, through to specific guidance on focused areas. Once formally engaged, our investigators will arrive on site at a mutually agreeable time, and begin the process of working with our clients to assist them with their investigation.
Our investigation coaches can providing assistance, guidance, and coaching through the following ways:
planning the investigation
identifying data gathering requirements
how to gather the data
understanding what is relevant and what's not
analysing the data using the ICAM process
developing actions that address the Absent/Failed Defences, Individual/Team Actions, Task/Environmental Conditions and Organisational Factors that have been identified
developing the report
Once our investigation coaches have been assigned, they will help our clients learn to take effective action and focus their efforts on what really matters.
Will HSE International still lead and facilitate investigations?
Definitely! We recognize the importance of having an independent investigation process. We also recognize that the reality of work pressures means that there sometimes simply isn't enough resources to be available when needed. We also recognize that even during an ICAM coaching service, we may need to step in and lead the investigation as things become more complex.
